I'm in Cairns, Tourism Australia!

Well we made it safe and sound (?) The people who put up a 'Welcome to Cairns' sign 50km from the place should be shot. All in all an easy drive, besides me taking out a fence paling with the trailer... We arrived at our place of residence for the next 2 weeks to find that it's probably suitable for one nights stay, two at the limit. Only 2 bedrooms all up in stingey hotel from the 70's. So, as previously arranged Tegan and I paired up in one and are leaving the other two to fester in their own juices. We managed to nab the one with an air con unit which is essential for fresh air with the added bonus of comfortably cool air. It's so much hotter up here with a higher humidity, I'm so not used to the heat, still adjusted the the Canadian thermostat. I'm thinking the beach tomorrow arvo will do the trick nicely, add a little more colour to my see-through legs! We're not far from the beach here, haven't had time to check anything out yet of course but I'm excited! Tegan tells me there is some night markets here, so will definitely have to checks those out, looking forward to the laid-back tourist feel of this town...I'll let you know how it goes!
