bad mama jamma

Yesterday, what a wonderful day of bliss, Tegan and I were randomly wandering the streets looking for some breakfast: specifically to try the new Hungry Jacks 'big brekky in a wrap.' After finding that the beach had gone out to sea and the main realisation that we were never going to find one before our feet audibly complained we recieved a call from Justin, our South African trainer. We managed to scam him into picking us up and taking us to breakfast. It was his day for the car but he so graciously allowed us to tag along with him. First stop: a decent beach. At the recommendation of our hotel lady Vicky, we headed to Trinity Beach where there are nets to keep the sharks out and is relatively free of crocs and jellyfish this time of year. So went for a couple of swims, baked in the sun and read my current book, Going Postal. So beautiful there and so laid back and lazy. The whole feel of the place is so peaced out, it's awesome!

Next we headed up the range to Kuranda and visited the local markets, I bought a very cool wooden hair pin with aboriginal dots in concentric circles. So much to see, all very touristy. The main thing we went up there for was the Butterfly sanctuary because Jus wanted to test out his new macro lens. It was the most incredible, being in this totally open area where there were so many butterflies just around you, resting on leaves, landing on you, floating past. So graceful and magical. A wonderful experience. I can't wait to share all the photos with you. I have a day off tomorrow so will be spending the early hours with a backlog blog of piccies. Till then!
