As some of you may know, I have recently been doing a little driving with a buddy of mine- Miss Bonny Collins. We've checked off some of the better known tourist spots of our country and also a few of the lesser known caravan & car parks along the way. Because of the sheer volume of photographs and my desire to string things out for longer than they should go, I've decided to make you jealous in instalments...
Part One:
After finishing up an amazing convention at Rochdale 2nd, we flew down to Melbourne late on Monday night to cuddle up in our tiny room at Base Backpackers in St Kilda. Nothing more welcoming than free pancakes at 10pm. Essentially our time in Melbourne was spent like most other girls on a trip to this metropolis: shopping. Thankfully, Melbtown has some amazing vintage districts and plenty of indie/ hipster kids. This was a welcome relief to the boutique stores with their expensive light fixtures and near empty shops.
Luna Park
Queen Victoria Markets
Bonny with Free Tram
Narrow Terrace Housing
Russian Dolls (and one Australian) in the park
A rather appropriate hotel name
Certainly no lack of ironic 80's bicycles
One of many seconds spent waiting for a tram
Spell your own adventure on the sidewalk
We also caught up with Chelsea and Paul for dinner before Wednesday night meeting which they kindly drove us out to. It wasn't until we arrived at the meeting in Essendon that we realised how foolish it would have been to attempt catching public transport there.
We had two full days in the city which we planned to cram way more into than we actually got to do, as is the case in unknown territory. We did make it out to Brighton as I really wanted to see the coloured beach huts so I'll include those in my next post- got to keep you looking forward to something...!
Love it:) keep it up!
