...this weekend would have been perfect. Actually it was pretty perfect so I don't know what that really says about me! I went roller skating on Friday night for Kristie's 35th birthday party. Kristie is one of the girls I work with. As most people my age, I have never been roller skating before. Roller blading was the thing in primary school and I haven't engaged in that particular activity probably SINCE primary school. So I was pretty wobbly on what seemed to be as chunky and heavy as platforms from the 70's...with wheels! I think I was finally getting the hang of it by the end of the night. Just a tip, being fairly proficient at ice skating does NOT help!

We all got into the spirit of things and dressed up in 70s/ 80's/ Roller Derby regalia. See photos below for some general foolishness. Take note of the snap bands, teased hair, pastel/floro combinations and incredible make up jobs.

Up bright and early on Saturday for some exceptional navigation skills exhibited by Lachy on our way to Go-Karting. That's right, it has capitals. Heidi's 21st at Kingston Park Raceway for some speed, swerving, stacks and swift race times. We had our work cut out for us on the 1.1km track and plenty of rev-head friends to ego bust. I did not do much ego-busting on the track but merely hindered many others from passing or blocking the track while taking out the tyre displays. In the final race three of our top racers (in the previous heats) were given the black flag and disqualified and as a result I came in a proud 9th out of 18. Alright for a first time! Mainly though, through all the trash talk and "what was your highest speed?" it was just a really good time. We all got into it and I know I got sore arms the next day and some bruises from the steering column!
Karts ready to go...
Placings announced
Top Three- Brendon, Chris and Trav.
Wooden Spoon Trophy winner- an excellent shirt choice for the day too.

Sunday night we had a games night at Rowan's place with Dexter dimming the lights sporadically. We played Werewolf (appropriate for the intermittent darkness) and another game where a topic is chosen and you have to describe what yours is like. Eg: toothbrush (mine is curvy, mine is pink, mine is used daily etc) until person guesses the topic. Topics of note for the night were: favourite Killer Bunny weapon, favourite child star, 'favourite' dictator (can you tell we were running out of ideas?)
While celebrating a very special birthday on Monday by taking a day off, Rach and I went shopping in the city...I loaded up with Mexican Trains Dominoes and KB expansion pack and her toting a rather large canvas. We trundled on home to organise more games for the purpose of having an excuse to do cheese fondue and gluvine. After gorging ourselves and dishing out punishments for dropping the bread into the cheese pot (a la Asterix) we moved onto dipping an assortment of fruit into a large saucepan of chocolate. Suffice to say we could not do much but loll around like carpet snakes (me anyway.)
Unfortunately no pictures of cheesiness- it all happened so fast that I didn't really have time to get a look at the guy...
You're lookin' good Susie! looks like a fun fun weekend!
