Chocolate by the bald man

It's officially official: Summer is here! Yesterday Bonny and Sam and I headed to the beach for a relaxing afternoon. Walking from our carpark to Surfers for something to eat (and trying to find somewhere that would accept Sam with no shoes) was tough. We can upon a relaxing looking cafe by a pool only to realise after sitting down and ordering that we were in fact at the Q1 cafe. Bonny's looking at the menu musing..." Q...I what does Q I mean? Ohhhh Q ONE!" We all glanced skyward at the same moment to see Gold Coast tallest residential tower right near our "little cafe." We hung around there for quite some time relaxing in the sun before getting the energy (and motivation) to go down to the beach.

This man's friends had a bit of fun...!

Bonny may have fallen asleep on the beach while Sam and I had a swim. The water was cold to start with but lovely once you got all in and committed. A bit choppy but still good- no wind and plenty of sunshine. As the sun started losing it's tanning power we headed to the marina shopping centre...I think? Anyway turns out there is a Max Brenner Chocolate Bar there. I had never been before but am well and truly introduced now. I had a Belgian waffle with icecream, strawberries and chocolate drizzled on top with an extra pot of chocolate on the side and Bon had a chocolate fondue type thing with strawberries to dip and a cappuccino with chocolate drizzled on the froth. This came in a special cup in order to feed more chocolate into the coffee, just in case you hadn't already slipping into a sugar-induced coma.

Since Laura was at home studying, a takeaway chocolate pot was purchased for her and Sam took this opportunity to takeaway a couple of pots of his own. I swear we were only in that store for about 5 minutes and we come out to discover him on a bench slurping down chocolate. So of course we did what good friends do...and joined in!
