Basement Birds

I have a latest and greatest story to share: was listening to Triple J at the exact right time when Josh Pyke was on talking about a band he is in with three other fellow singer/ songwriters called Basement Birds. I absolutely love their sound, amazing how you can hear little bits of each artist in the various components of melody, lyrics and the general texture of the tracks. The band also includes KavTemperly from Eskimo Joe, Steve Parkin and Kevin Mitchell from Jebidiah (aka Bob Evans.) They are releasing the songs they have recorded in bundles online which will be available basically when they decide to hand them over to itunes. Here's a vid of them mucking around in the backyard in Perth where they did most of the recording and creating. Loving the four part harmonies, about time to bring back the singing in songs!
