Lets pretend this is Thursday morning

I suppose you could call it a sleep out, it's part of the original veranda but it has four walls and a huge bed so it's a far cry from being anything like a narrow bed on the porch with a mosquito net over it. Both doors are open and the cool breeze steadily blows through. I had intended to sleep entirely on top of the covers because of the stifling hot day but the constant wind was colder than I expected and I ended cuddled up in the bedding. This place is beautiful, Candy has all manner of pets: a bird, two very fat cats, some black pigs and some chooks wandering around the garden as well. It's a lovely vista here especially after all the rain- I have never seen this part of the country green ever before, it really softens it. The hills look more gentle, the outlook more overwhelming instead of being a vast space of harsh brown grass. It's overcast today which is attributing to the cooler weather. Hopefully it won't rain too hard because apparently we'll be flooded in. We had to take a different route to get here last night along a red dirt road. Sam's Mercedes, in his own words..."eats bumps for breakfast..." so it was a smooth ride despite the corrugated track.

Crash, the tabby cat is rubbing itself around my legs and looking at me expectantly...I don't know what he wants! I give him a good rubdown, hopefully a little bit of attention will safisfy for now. Candy cooked dinner for us last night: she's recently gone vegetarian so we had veggie burgers with zucchini, tomato, onion and cheese- was pretty good actually- I was having doubts for a while there! If I went vegetarian I would probably wind up eating tonnes of pasta and be extra tubby. We have to pack up all of Sam's guitars and stuff that he's been storing here, that is if he ever decides to get up...

I'm not really doing much these days up here but it was good just to get out of the house, get out of the comfort zone. We stayed at Jazzie's (that's Justin) where Sam lived for most of the time he was up here. Sam and him were up most of the night giggling like little girls at youtube clips. They showed me one later of this little kid who breaks his own arm on purpose. I don't think that was his original intention exactly but it was funny in a sick kind of way. Don't know whether to wince or pity or laugh. Laughing is the easiest option which is probably why we choose it when we don't know how to react.

I'll add some piccies later to this post so you can see a little of what it's like, until then wish me luck on my 8 hour roadtrip home!
