poked by pins

Today I had my much awaited for acupuncture 'wellness' treatment. Since forever I seem to have so many back problems, which is quite unusual for someone who is only 22! Considering the amount of heavy lifting I have done in my various careers, it's no wonder my back screams out in protest! At a point in my life a few years ago when I was waking up and crying because of the pain and chiropractors were next to useless, I submitted to having acupuncture...I was desperate! It's not that my qualms about being stuck with pins were founded in a legitimate bad experience but were rather a result of my thinking it was a bit morbid. Waverny is my Chinese medicine go-to girl. She's fantastic! She's not Chinese but is the cutest, smallest person I know. She is always wearing bright colourful clothes. The thing I remember most about my first visit is peeking through the round hole my face was smoushed in to see her bright green shoes which had the front half of a cow on one and the back half on the other. Brilliant! Her waiting room now features a christmas tree like no other. I hate Christmas to begin with but this I can deal with. You feed marbles in the top and they plunkedy- plank all the way to the bottom. Each wooden 'leaf' that it hits on the way down is a different pitch as it reaches the bigger ones near the base. Probably not recommended for people with kids though, with someone playing on it constantly it might wear a little thin...

In other news, mum and dad's bedroom got refloored today, it looks fabulous, it's just a mock wood laminate but very liberating to get rid of the old crusty carpet. I had the pleasure of ripping it up and let me tell you it was not a pleasure removing the nail strips. Blood, (cut myself on the measuring tape) sweat and no tears later, the room was bare concrete again. Until...

Next up: the kitchen!

p.s. if anyone knows how I can properly align these stupid pictures please let me know!
