screen printing

Something I really would like to get into is screen printing. I have been fascinated by Andy Warhol's work from my very early art awareness (see side bar) and want to create something of my own. I love fiddling around in photoshop and think that I can distort and manipulate an image to such a point as to allow me to pick it apart and recreate it. I love breaking something down to understand it and then putting it back together as something new. This of course doesn't work with machinery. I found that one out the hard way...

Anyways I haven't done anything towards this screenprinting scheme except to accidentally find out that mum did some onto fabric back in the day. Very pleased about that little bonus! I have been working on re-creating my own version of an idea I saw in an Anthropologie window display... painted a design onto regular fly screen and voila! I quite like it as the room I am in at the moment is so very plain and it has purple curtains. Granted, I did pick out the curtains, but it was when I was about 14 and had no intention of them ever ending up in a room that I inhabited.

I went shopping for mum today and got some treats, the healthy kind you'll be pleased to know. One such product, probably just masquerading as healthy, Greek yogurt. Mmm... thick and creamy with blueberries. And I got myself a bit of a bargain with some strawberries. You can bet that I ate that huge overgrown strawberry and it was gooooooooood! So sweet and juicy.
