bittersweet story

Today I spent my whole day writing. Or rather typing. To be fair, it's a bit of both. Mum is desperately seeking a way to get me employed, against my better judgement. Anyways she found this young writers competition which is put on by the state library or something. Anyway moral of the story is the winnings are $2000 and a years worth of membership to writers guild which would be very cool. I had never thought about writing as a career or anything. Because the most obvious reason being that it's pretty hard to crack into and generally an unreliable source of income unless you happen to pen something about teenage wizards before anyone else does. That works.

Anyways so I whipped up this short story today. I hate short stories. It was my least favourite form of writing in school and it still is now. You don't have anywhere to go. No time for character development or any kind of a plot. It's dead before it starts. I just can't grasp it. So the future isn't looking good for me...

I did have a major breakthrough today in making the perfect lemon lime and bitters. Just look at the exquisite beauty of that thing...
