On Sunday I was reading Saturdays paper, (as you do) well to be quite honest I was looking for the funnies... I came across a section listing books to read, movies to see etc and found out that STOMP 09 was in town for this week. Mum had been dropping some fairly heavy hints that Mother's Day was coming up so I took her last night. Man, oh MAN! This group was amazing! They created rhythms, beats, sound and music with the most mundane ordinary things. Seats, brooms, paint cans, inner tubes, lighters, 44 gallon drums, tubes, plastic and paper bags, kitchen sinks, newspapers, garbage cans & lids, chemical drums, sticks, polypipe, old jerry cans...you name it! It was a spectacular experience like no other! The performers are so fit and strong and talented beyond belief! Here's some of the troop that performed in Brissy:
Paul Bend, comedian of the group!

Sarah Lasaki and Troy Sexton

Towards the end of the show, they got the audience in on it: clapping, stomping and clicking in sequences. It was incredible to hear the whole concert hall (it was chockers) together, a culmination of sound.
I saw them too!
