shouldn't but I just did

Well I just wrote a particularly long post on my other blog with Ayla so feeling a little like the words are all squeezed out of me. This, I feel is quite strange considering that I have not spoken out loud yet today and it is 11.02 am. No, I am not moody or particularly surly, it's just that noone is home. That sounds really sad. Maybe it's time to start talking to the cat. I can see why old people start talking to themselves or even inanimate objects, the other alternative, though less crazy, is infinitely depressing.

Let me tell you about my cat. Firstly, my cats name is Candy. I do not know why. It may have something to do with the fact that she is black and I wanted to call her liquorice. (it doesn't quite ring) One can see how it would just merge into another sweet. I was a strange kid, that is my only defense. At the time, Candy was a present for me to stop me biting my nails...totally related but it's the only thing that worked. At the time, we had one other old cat. She was originally one of two sibling cats my dad bought and named Rumball and Truffles. You can see that my strangeness in naming my cat Candy was not entirely my fault. Anyways, Truffles had arthritus in her back legs and when she walked her leg would move in the normal fashion to execute that then her hip would click out on the respective side creating a kind of disjointed sway. Quite amusing to watch, I assure you. She barely tolerated the new kitten, but that was her way. She still managed to jump the 6 foot fence to get away from said kitten, even with her disjointed hips. Truffles wasn't much interested in anything. I don't know if she was always like this but I'd like to think so. I love it how cats have such proud personalities. I remember when dad had caught a mouse in a trap and it was still alive so he released it in front of Truffles. Truffles was sitting down and the only part of her that moved was her eyes as she watched it run past. Oh boy.

I am enjoying talking about cats far too much. I really want to tell you more stories about my cat so I think I'll make it a mini-series of posts. Do you have any good stories about your cat?

Here's mine peering through a dirty window...
