Everything goes in cycles, fashion being the most obvious of this saying. However it is quite certain that body art follows similar trends. Just ask anyone who got a butterfly on their ankle, a celtic phrase or barbwire tattoos in the 90's. Here are a few more that I have noticed and listed for your head shaking amusement/ bafflement and amazement at the idiocy of the human race.
1. Bows on the back of the legs.
'Bows are sexy on stockings so they must be even cuter when they are there permanently...'
2. Angel Wings
No, you are not angelic and even with those wings you wouldn't get very far.
3. Chinese Symbol
'But it means hope (or love or faith) and it symbolises my outlook on life...' No, the only thing it symbolises is your vast ignorance. If you don't speak the language, don't do it. It could mean chicken for all you know.
4. Star Tattoo
Yay stars! So pretty and happy. Maybe I'll get a rainbow and a unicorn and some carebears to join in this cuteness overload.
This Belgian girl thought it was a good idea to put 56 of them on her face for good measure-just in case it's cloudy one night...
5. Face Tattoos
Enough said, really.
6. Asian-inspired body murals
Giant goldfish, dragons, flames, cherry blossums, coloured scales, lotus and claws- what's not to like?
7. 'We're besties!' Tatt
Lindsay and Lily got the friendship bracelet equivalent before realising that Rihanna had it first.
8. Tramp Stamp
This lower back tattoo became popular in late 90's/ early 00's along with midriff tops and hipster jeans and has become a symbol of sexual promiscuity.
9. Southern Cross
The ultimate way to prove you're Australian these days is to have this constellation on your person. At this point I would say that 75% of people who have tattoo/s will have one of these babies tucked away somewhere.
10. Tribal
It doesn't make your biceps look bigger actually. And you aren't tougher now either. This is the new barbwire around the upper arm, it seems.
11. Latin Phrases (or any other language you don't understand)
It's especially good if it's misspelled. And in old english lettering.

ReplyDeleteThat hair growing on his arm is disturbing. The Asian Tattooing i actually don't mind as long as its tasteful. Tattoo's are body art unfortunately there's a lot of crap art out there
