For quite a number of weeks now Bec, Laura and I have been planning to get ourselves to the Valentino Exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art. It finally happened on Friday night...we set out to have our fashion senses amazed and inspired by a designer so notorious for his daring cuts, materials and most classic style. As part of the ongoing Brisbane festival, they had an "up late" session where the DJ was blasting out the beats and there were droves of men and women dressed up in their finery. It was all very exciting to see...dresses worn by famous women and some incredible styling that would never actually be worn but nevertheless are still admired for the fine craftsmanship and exquisite attention to detail. As no photos were allowed inside (obviously because if I made the same thing I would be able to pass it off as a genuine.)

I still don't think I'll ever be accidentally mistaken for a mannequin, even if I do pose like this...

Our exhibition wondering was over shorter than anticipated so we wondered across to Southbank, discovered a cuban band playing outside (for free!) but lost interest when they had a break in the set and the snack bar didn't sell any descent coffee for the girls. Past Friday nightlife, bellydancers and onto a cafe with a killer chai latte (I'm told) and latin dancing for those confident, talented (or drunk enough) to give it a go.
