Raw Tapioca Chunks in my Teeth
After reading all my blog updates, I feel like I should actually do one of my own, it seems to get further and further between posts. The longer you leave it, the harder it gets...you know the deal. Of late I have been creating my very own cookbook with all my favourite recipes etc. This is not the kind of cookbook that everyone pitches in a recipe before you get married because a) I'm not getting married b) I detest that particular practice and c) I can fully personalise this one. I have searched through my grade 3 collection of recipes (complete with 'I love you mum' handdrawn pictures,) a Betty Crocker book from the 1950's (have a drink ready for your husband after his hard day of work- and make sure you let the children lick out the bowl!) It's so funny! So basically scrumming through anything I can find to get some delicious recipes.
Because mother dear can see how into this I was getting she did the subtle not so subtle look in the pantry and declared we had no biscuits/ cookies. Enter: baking afternoon extravaganza. Homemade oreo cookies, blueberry muffins and Brazilian cheesebread. They all turned out rather well considering they were all new recipes to me. Unfortunately I could not find tapioca flour from my local for the brazilian cheesebread so I did a little substituting. Tapioca seeds directly into mum's super juicer/grinder/muncher machine. It creaked groaned and popped before mum got too scared of it burning out and hit the power. Next bright idea was using the coffee grinder which worked rather well but still not as finely ground as required. Hence the occasional crunchy bit when the cheesebread came out of the oven...
Oh and I must include this...
ordinary box, closed lid, previously with stuff piled on top
Devious cat willing to take advantage of any small dark space she can find...
