No, this isn't a pros and cons post between the two countries (though that would be interesting!) On Thursday night Bonny invited me out to a indoor volleyball match between Aus and Canada down at Browns Plains. I was meant to meet her and others for dinner at Lonestar (cringe for the country music) but she pulled her usual 'get lost and late' act and it ended up that Nick and I were the only ones left to eat together. It might be good to mention at this point that I have never met Nick before... no matter. I thought it would be weird (and surely he did too) but there were no awkward silences and we had quite a good time and a few laughs while waiting for Bon to get there.
At the venue I was overwhelmed by just how tall and stretchy the players all were (except the liberos.) I'll post some pics for you to gawk at just how much height they get off the net. It was a fantastic atmosphere, everyone was very excited, which I'm told is unusual for a vball match. It doesn't get much coverage/ recognition as a sport.
Aussie won three straight sets with the crowd well and truly behind them but the games were pretty evenly matched overall. The night was finished off with dessert at Maccas and a bit of manic driving.

Wow, that's so cool! I love watching volleyball, especially when they're so "stretchy" haha and they jump around like a bunch of jumping beans. Cool. But I can't believe you cheered for Aussie. haha!
