Did you know there are 2m long salamandas in Japan?

I didn't. They are HUGE! Basically this eel with legs that prowls around on the bed of cold rivers just snapping up fish, scarily speedy too.

Just a random fact for the day to think about next time you're swimming in the river. Mind you these kind of ones are found in China/ Japan etc but when have our fears of underwater creatures been anything but rational?

Mum was due to come home today after being in the cancer ward for 3 weeks but her potassium levels dropped so it looks like Wednesday will be the homecoming after all. I cleaned the bathroom and vacuumed every aspect of her bedroom, dusting the blinds and cleaning her duchess and now it's probably going to look just as dirty in two days time anyway. Bah, humbug.

Sam is coming home from his pub gig crawl to earn a bit of extra coin tomorrow so I might convince him to go op-shopping with me in the city. Apparently there's a bunch of groovy shops in Paddington so I'm anxious to check it out. I have so many ideas in my head for Etsy, they're all just exploding in bits and pieces and don't really make sense yet. I'll have to start some of the projects I have in mind so I can find out what works and what will flop. I found the most incredible jug the other day, can't wait to show you pics but I think I'll save it for when I have my shop up and running. Still mulling over the name, nothing really fits...STILL!
