February is finally upon us, and you know what that means? Usually it means dreading the most cruel holiday in the calendar year but this time it means internet. We went over our download limit last month so I haven't had a connection for about 2 weeks. Never realised how much I relied on it for my everything and most of all I especially missed blogging. I thought about all you out there and all the posts I was missing while I found things to do on my computer that didn't require a wireless network. There really isn't much. I'm sick of solitaire for one.
In all the spare time, I've been reading. I went to the library and selected a bunch of books from the returns pile. I really lucked out with this lot, have read two really awesome books. State of Fear by Michael Crichton I would recommend highly for anyone to read. He has a non-fiction format of writing that enables him to incorporate facts and information while still retaining the reader's interest. I could not put it down. Way ahead of his time with his subject matter. I also thought that it was about time that I checked out that other book that Stephenie Meyer wrote, you know the one that has nothing to do with the Twilight series. I have been putting it off because the blurb kinda gave it away that it was a bit science fictiony and I was a little creeped out but like I said earlier...I had no internet! The Host (by Stephenie Meyer) was an excellent read, I stayed up till four am one night because, again, was so riveted and sucked into the storyline. Very unique concepts. I enjoyed it very much.
So that's it for the book reviews... shall we move onto story time, or would you like puppets next?
