foodie

I'm making a lifestyle change. This one I will stick to (promise!) No particular plan to follow but just generally eating right, lots of salads lots of protein to keep me happy and cutting out a lot of the sugary stuff I have been rather fond of lately. It's great. I feel great already. Today I felt like baking and mum very conveniently had a neighbors 'christmas nibblies' thing to go to so I decided to try out this Nanaimo Bar recipe I've been wanting to try. This way everyone's happy and I don't end up munching on them because they're around the house...( you know how it is...)

Last night I was trying to poach eggs properly the way the restaurants do them and not in the little cups that come with your saucepan. One semi-failure where most of the egg white fanned out into little flocks then mum came home. White vinegar is apparently the trick to keep it all together. So now I have a mild obsession with poached eggs, which is much better than all previous food obsessions which include peanut butter cups and Willy Wonka Sour and Nerds. Among others. I am particularly fond of pomegranates too at this time, they just look like tiny little red gems all tucked in together.

Anyone got some healthy food obsessions I could adopt?

Oh and by the way, it's mango season...how jealous are you?

Well you should be!

  1. Totally jealous of the mango, oh my goodness!!! Had one here and it was nothing compared to the ones in Oz!

Yep, pomegranates look and taste awesome - try mixing the seeds (is that what the "gems" are called??) with yoghurt and maybe some granola - makes a yummy snack!

I totally need to eat more fruit too - really not good at doing that!
