Wow what a week! It's been so crazy...suddenly now that I'm leaving everyone wants to catch up with me before I leave! Geez they could have at least had the consideration to spread it out into the last 3 weeks instead of the mad 5 day dash till I finally depart from this cold continent. On Tuesday Ayla and I had a fun day touring around the local op shops (thrift stores for the non-aussies amongst us.) We found some interesting things mainly to buy for upcoming photo shoot with Ayla and Ron. We jumped on that bandwagon fairly quickly because Ron detests photos being taken of him in normal situations. The stipulation of this photo shoot was that it had to be quirky and unique. We got a few themes in mind and went from there. Unfortunately Ron had some very specific ideas on how he wanted everything to look so I didn't have photographic freedom and not many photos turned out very well. I like to be in control.
We managed to finally find that safeway had a floral/ celebrations section which did helium-filled balloons. It was so fun having such a colourful huge bunch of these-especially for just a normal day. I think the next time I'm feeling blue I'm going to carry around a bunch of these! Everyone smiles at you, kids point in wonder and you just feel so darn full of joy. I'm going to start doing NieNie's birthday balloon release tradition.
