Ver. sad event today, a bird just flew straight into our living room window and has prompty died either of a broken neck or shock. To make matters worse, my cat was there to pounce upon startled bird as soon as it fell. I rescued the bird, a lovely green and grey thing and put him/her~ it into my incomplete mouse house. So it died peacefully at least and not in the jaws of an ambitious cat. Needless to say Candy is still looking for it out the front of the house, not one to give up a prize so easily. I'm secretly hoping she'll learn how to take down a few of the crows around here, there's far too many of them! Truthfully though, we are lucky to have so many birds around here. Granted, some of them are annoying but on the whole we get to see plenty of lorrkeets and this little fellow...
we used to have 2 lorikeets in a cage in our backyard in australia and we name them a&w but we couldn't tell them apart, it was just for the sake of naming them after a canadian fast food chain. maybe I've told you that before. They're pretty though I like. Sorry about the dead bird...
